I don't know if you believe in data, but...

by Danno The collection, organization, and application of data has been on the rise throughout the history of mankind.   It's what we do.  We live, we learn, and we get better.   It’s hard to keep accurate statistics in your head.   Perhaps drawing tickmarks in the dirt is better than keeping track in your head, but the rain could wash away your data.   Tickmarks on a stone tablet solved that problem.   Over time we moved to paper, then to computers, and now we have supercomputers in our pockets, and we can find good and organized data almost anywhere.   The more data we have, if we can make sense of it, the better decisions we are capable of making.   The data is collected and organized, yet many people will try to fight it or attempt to argue against applying it.   It’s just easier to stick with the storytelling and the spectacular, rather than following the data.   Humans are stubborn.   We have egos.   We make emotional decisions.
